Mr. Carande brings to the Board 40 years of experience in financial services and Big Four consulting, including service as a trusted advisor to numerous CEOs and boards across multiple industries. His deep experience in finance and risk management brings a pragmatic, forward-looking perspective. He also contributes expertise in aligning strategy, technology, and talent to support the growth and scalability of global organizations, while fostering accountability and agility in processes and culture.

Career Highlights

Mr. Carande held a series of senior leadership roles at KPMG LLP, including Global Head of Advisory for KPMG LLP (“KPMG”) from 2020-2025, U.S. Advisory Vice Chair from 2015-2025, U.S. Advisory National Managing Partner from 2012-2015, U.S. Banking Industry Advisory Practice, Partner-in-Charge from 2003-2012, and Risk Advisory Services Principal from 2002-2025.

After joining KPMG in 2002, Mr. Carande rebuilt the Southeast Advisory practice into a major growth platform. As regional Partner-in-Charge, he developed and launched a Business Integration Risk Management offering focused on post-merger execution and operational risk. In subsequent senior leadership roles, he helped bring KPMG’s global Advisory business together under a cohesive framework, instilling performance discipline and a business development mindset across the enterprise. He also advanced delivery models and digital capabilities while developing leadership teams positioned to sustain growth amid rapid industry change. Beyond KPMG, Mr. Carande advised financial institutions and multinational clients on complex integrations, enterprise risk, and performance improvement, helping leadership teams strengthen competitive positioning through strategic M&A and data-driven pricing.

Before joining KPMG, Mr. Carande served as Global Pricing and Analytics Director, Corporate Cash Management, at Bank of America from 1994 to 1997. In that role, he developed a strong foundation in financial services and led global pricing and analytics for a $1.4 billion cash management business.

Education

Mr. Carande earned a BS degree in organizational systems design from California State University, Northridge in 1987 and an MBA from Golden Gate University in 1993.
