President and Chief Banking Officer

Richard Bradshaw serves as the President and Chief Banking Officer for United Community Bank.

In his role, Bradshaw is responsible for the bank’s diverse commercial, retail, and wealth management lines of business and oversees 207 branch locations across the five-state footprint.

Bradshaw brings more than 30 years of banking industry experience to his role at United Community Bank. When Bradshaw joined United in early 2014, he was tasked with building out an array of commercial lines of business, which has resulted in $3 billion in loan balances. The commercial division also includes the growth of United’s SBA lending program, which is one of the largest SBA divisions by volume in the Southeast. That growth resulted in United approving and funding more than 20,000 PPP loans for nearly $2.0 billion dollars for existing and new customers.

Prior to his position with United, Bradshaw served as the Head of U.S. SBA Programs at TD Bank, leading the bank to become the 8th largest SBA lender in the U.S. He previously served as President at UPS Capital Business Credit in Atlanta, GA, where he was responsible for sales and marketing for asset-based lending, equipment leasing, SBA, and insurance. He is retired from the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for NAGGL (National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders). In 2013, Bradshaw received NAGGL’s annual Distinguished Service Award, its highest individual award.

Bradshaw is a retired Commander from the U.S. Naval Reserve Intelligence Program. He served five years of active duty as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science in management and holds a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.

He and his wife Stacey live in Greenville, South Carolina, and have three adult children and six grandchildren. Bradshaw enjoys being involved in his community and has served and chaired a number of financial and local charitable boards throughout his career. He currently serves on the board of the Community Foundation of Greenville.
